TÜV SÜD has been added to the list of approved testing labs for LED Lighting Facts. As of June 1, LED Lighting Facts will only accept test reports from its approved laboratories.

Everlight has benefited several LED streetlights contracts from mainland Chinese provinces of Guangdong, Jiangsu, Sichuan and Hebei in addition to talks with the mainland’s big retailers over promoting the company’s LED light bulbs in the mainland.

Everlight has filed an LED patent-infringement lawsuit against Nichia in a US court, and is also asking the court to declare two Nichia patents invalid. Meanwhile, Nichia has received a favorable court ruling in Germany against Harvatek.

Cree reports that the LED efficacy was measured at 254 lumens per watt, at a correlated color temperature of 4408 K. Standard room temperature, 350 mA testing, was used to achieve the results.

According to Taiwan President Ma Ying-jeou , the island’s ongoing efforts to promote solar-powered LED lighting in Africa could bring new life to Taiwan’s troubled LED and solar power industries.

The DOE has added two optional metrics to the Lighting Facts label, indication of a warranty and a lumen maintenance metric.
